Troubleshooting access-control issues

Use this information to troubleshoot issues when users cannot access specific resources.

  • If a user cannot access data for a specific resource that should be accessible:
    • Identify the access-control lists that are associated with the user and then view the membership of each resource group that is also associated with those access-control lists. Ensure that the resource in question is included in those resource groups.
  • If a user can access data for a specific resource that should not be accessible:
    • Ensure that the user is not a member of a group to which the predefined Supervisor role is assigned. Resource access cannot be restricted for supervisor users.
    • Identify the access-control lists that are associated with the user and then view the membership of each resource group that is also associated with those access-control lists. Ensure that the resource in question is not included in those resource groups.
