Primary volume - reserved rapacity vull

All of the reserved capacity of a primary volume in an asynchronous mirrored pair has been used.

Important
  • This problem occurs when synchronization of a mirror consistency group causes the reserved capacity of a primary mirrored volume to become full before the synchronization operation completed. Synchronization of the mirror consistency group was not suspended; however, the next synchronization interval will begin when a new snapshot image is created.

  • If this problem is occurring frequently, you should evaluate the reserved capacity to determine if it is appropriately sized for the mirroring configuration. You should also evaluate the reserved capacity alert threshold associated with the mirror consistency group to determine if it is appropriate for the mirroring configuration. If the threshold is set too high, you may not be notified with sufficient time to correct any reserved capacity problems.

  • The Synchronization completed field in the Details area indicates the percentage of synchronization that was completed before the reserved capacity became full. This value may help you identify whether you should increase the reserved capacity.

Recovery Steps

  1. Is the percentage low or high in the Synchronization completed field shown in the Details area?

    • If low, you should increase the reserved capacity and evaluate the alert threshold. Go to step 2.

    • If high, this problem may be a result of a a one-time, unusually high amount of write activity to the primary volume. Unless this problem begins to occur on a regular basis, the reserved capacity is likely adequate. Go to step 4.

  2. Increase the reserved capacity of the affected primary volume shown in the Details area, and then go to step 3.

    1. Go to Storage > Pools & Volume Groups. Then, select the Reserved Capacity tab.

    2. Highlight the affected mirrored pair shown in the Details area.

    3. Select Increase Capacity and increase the capacity appropriately.

    4. Go to step 3.

  3. Evaluate the alert threshold and increase it if necessary, and then go to step 4.

    1. Go to Storage > Pools & Volume Groups. Then, select the Reserved Capacity tab.

    2. Highlight the affected mirrored pair shown in the Details area.

    3. Select View/Edit Settings and adjust the reserved capacity threshold to a value higher than its current setting.

    4. Go to step 4.

  4. Select Clear to clear this problem.

  5. Select Recheck to ensure the problem has been resolved.
