Synchronous mirroring – primary volume conflict

Both volumes in the mirror relationship are currently in the primary role. This problem occurs when the secondary volume in the mirrored pair is promoted to the primary role while there is a connection problem between the local and remote storage arrays.

Important
The steps of this recovery guru must be performed on the storage array containing the volume you want to be the primary volume in the mirrored pair.

Recovery Steps​

  1. Remove the mirror relationship from the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.

    1. Go to Storage > Synchronous Mirroring.

    2. Highlight the mirrored pair shown in the Details area.

    3. Select Remove under Uncommon Tasks to remove the mirror relationship.

  2. Re-create the mirrored pair by selecting Mirror Volume.

  3. Select Recheck to ensure the problem has been resolved.
