Snapshot group or CG member volume failed

A snapshot group or consistency group (CG) member volume has failed. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.

Important:
  • Data on any associated snapshot images is no longer usable.

  • These objects typically fail because there is a problem with the associated base volume, one or more of the repository volumes within the overall repository, or there is an integrity error that cannot be corrected.

  • You can resolve this problem in two ways:

    • Perform a revive operation. Reviving will delete existing snapshot images and clear all existing data from the snapshot group or consistency group member volume so that it can be reused.

    • Manually delete the snapshot group, or remove the consistency group member volume from its associated consistency group.

  • This problem could be the result of an error with the associated base volume, or one or more of the repository volumes within the overall repository. If there are any problems in the Recovery Guru Summary area related to these objects, it is important to complete the recovery steps for those problems. It is possible to perform a delete, remove, or revive operation without completing those procedures, but until the failures are corrected, you may not be able to create new snapshot images
