Host multipath driver incorrect

The storage array has determined that a host's multipath driver is not operating as expected given the host's selected host operating system type.

Possible causes include:

Important:
  • Refer to the applicable Power Guide for information on supported multipath drivers and detailed installation and configuration procedures for the host's operating system and I/O interface type.

  • Disabling the automatic load balancing feature will cause the storage array to stop reporting this problem.

Recovery Steps

  1. Is the host's configuration approved to operate without a multipath driver?

    • If yes, go to step 2.

    • If no, go to step 3.

  2. Disable the automatic load balancing feature, and go to step 8.

    1. Go to Storage > System.

    2. Select the Enable/Disable Automatic Load Balancing link in the Additional Settings section and disable Automatic Load Balancing on the storage array.

    3. Go to step 8.

  3. Were volumes recently mapped to the host?

    • If yes, go to step 4.

    • If no, go to step 5.

  4. Does the host recognize the newly mapped volumes?

    • If yes, go to step 5.

    • If no, perform a rescan of the host's devices, and then go to step 8.

  5. Is the host operating system type shown in the Details area correct?

    • If yes, go to step 7.

    • If no, go to step 6.

  6. Correct the host operating system type of the host shown in the Details area, and then go to step 8.

    1. Go to Storage > Hosts.

    2. Highlight the affected host in the table.

    3. Select View/Edit Settings and correct the host's host operating system type.

    4. Go to step 8.

  7. Is the correct multipath driver version installed, and properly configured according to the applicable Power Guide for your host's OS and I/O interface type?

    • If yes, contact your Technical Support Engineer.

    • If no, correct the problem and go to step 8.

  8. Wait 10 minutes, and then select Recheck to ensure the problem has been resolved.
