What's new in version 2.7.0

Lenovo XClarity Administrator management software version 2.7.0 supports new hardware, software enhancements, and fixes.

Additional hardware support

This version supports the following new hardware.
  • Servers and appliances

    • ThinkAgile MX1021 (7D1B)

    • ThinkSystem SR850P (7D2F, 7D2G)

  • Storage devices

    • ThinkSystem DM7100F NVMe All Flash Array (7D25)

    • ThinkSystem DM7100H Hybrid Flash Array (7D26)

Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.
Function Description
Planning and installation You can install XClarity Administrator on CentOS (see Supported host systems).

License entitlements are now installed using activation keys files, in .KEY format. You can install and manage the licenses from the License Management page (see Installing the full-function enablement license).

A warning message is displayed when the XClarity Administrator is not in compliance with the license entitlements. You must install appropriate licenses to remove the warning message.

General Changing the sort order of a table column is persistent across the user sessions (see User interface tips and techniques).

You can reuse the past 10 searches by selecting the search criteria from the drop-down list next to the Filters field. The last active search on a page is persistent across user sessions (see User interface tips and techniques).

Administration The XClarity Administrator hostname is displayed on the log in page (see Logging in to Lenovo XClarity Administrator).

You can manage the disk space that is use by XClarity Administrator and easily delete resources that are no longer needed to free up space (see Managing disk space).

Device and inventory management You can enable XClarity Administrator to automatically unmanage rack switches that are offline for a specific amount of time (see Unmanaging a RackSwitch switch).
Device configuration You can define multiple ThinkSystem M.2 with Mirroring storage adapters, each in a different PCI slot (see Defining local storage).
Operating system deployment You can deploy the following operating systems to managed servers (see Supported operating systems).
  • CentOS Linux 8

  • Red HatĀ® Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server 8.1

  • SUSEĀ® Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12SP5

You can import and deploy custom Microsoft Windows images (see Installing operating systems on bare-metal servers).

You can find the status of the MAC address port that is used for OS deployment (see Configuring network settings for managed servers)

When Linux deployments, the time zone that is set for the operating system is updated to match the XClarity Administrator time zone (see Deploying an operating-system image).

Monitoring events and alerts You can filter hardware and management events that were raised within a custom start and end date (see Monitoring events in the event log and Monitoring events in the audit log).
Security You can modify the password for the RECOVERY_ID stored recovery credentials (see Managing stored credentials).
Service and support If Call Home is configured and enabled, an alert is asserted when connectivity to Call Home is down and de-asserted when connectivity to Call Home is restored.

The following additional countries are supported by Call Home if you are have a Lenovo Premier Support contract: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar (see Setting up automatic problem notification to Lenovo Support (Call Home)).

Machine types are included when you export warranty data (see Viewing warranty information).

XClarity Administrator supports listing Cherwill service tickets and status on the Service Tickets Status page (see Viewing service tickets and status). You must develop a custom XClarity integrator into Cherwill (using XClarity Administrator REST APIs) that pushes service ticket numbers and status to XClarity Administrator to use this new feature.
