Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.
Function Description
Planning and installation You can install XClarity Administrator on VMware ESXi 7.0 (see Supported host systems).

You can configure the license-warning period (see Installing the full-function enablement license).

IP addresses for the soa.lenovo.com domain, which is used send service data to Lenovo Support using Call Home, have changed (see Firewalls and proxy servers).

Device and inventory management You can change the rack numbering order preference (see Setting inventory preferences).
Device configuration You can enable or disable raising an alert when a server’s configuration settings do not match the assigned server-configuration profile (see Setting default server-configuration preferences).

The "SR635/SR655" form factor is available when creating a new configuration pattern for ThinkSystem SR635 and SR655 servers (seeCreating a server pattern)

You can use the "Extended SR635/SR655 BIOS" category pattern to configure BIOS settings for ThinkSystem SR635 and SR655 servers (see Defining extended SR635/SR655 BIOS settings).

Operating system deployment You can deploy the VMWare ESXi 7.0 to managed servers (see Supported operating systems).

You can configure the SAN volume when you choose to use SAN storage as the storage location (Choosing the storage location for managed servers).

You can deploy Windows and RHEL operating systems on SAN iSCSI storage (see Choosing the storage location for managed servers).

Firmware updates You can disable automatic assignment of a firmware-compliance policy to a device that has no assigned policy (see Configuring global firmware-update settings).

If a device was updated with delayed activation and requires a reboot, when the device is ready to be rebooted, that device is added back to the queue, and a queued device is taken off the queue so that the update process can begin on that device (see Applying and activating firmware updates).

Firmware updates are supported for ThinkSystem SR635 and SR655 servers (see Updating firmware on managed devices).

Service and support You can optionally send data about your hardware to Lenovo on a periodic basis to help Lenovo improve your experience with service and support Sending periodic data to Lenovo)).

You can create and enable up to 50 service forwarders to automatically send service data to your preferred service provider when a serviceable event occurs on specific managed devices (see Setting up automatic problem notification).

Call Home is suppressed for similar events for any ThinkAgile and ThinkSystem device if a service ticket is open for an event on that device (see Setting up automatic problem notification to Lenovo Support (Call Home)).
