What's new in version 3.6

Lenovo XClarity Administrator management software version 3.6 supports new hardware, software enhancements, and fixes.

Additional hardware support

This version supports the following new hardware.
  • Servers and appliances

    • ThinkSystem SR650 V2 (7D15)
  • Switches

    • NVIDIA Mellanox SN2410 Ethernet Switch
    • NVIDIA Mellanox SN3700c Ethernet Switch

Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.

Planning and installationYou can install XClarity Administrator on Microsoft Windows Server 2022 with Hyper-V installed and VMware ESXi 7.0 U3 (see Hardware and software prerequisites).

Some IP addresses that must be open on the firewall to download updates from IBM were changed.

Device managementYou can manage NVIDIA Mellanox switches (see Managing switches)..

You can securely erase data on all disk drives in specific managed servers (see Securely erasing drive data).

You can view the capacity of drives in ThinkSystem DM storage devices (see Viewing the details of a storage device).

You can view the firmware levels for IBM Tape Drives (see Viewing the details of a storage device).

You can view the size of each drive in a specific storage device (see Viewing the details of a storage device).

You can view the available capacity of each storage device from the Storage page (see Viewing the status of storage devices).

You can view capacity information about a specific storage device from the storage summary page (see Viewing the status of storage devices).

Server configurationYou can manually change the status of “Not Compliant” devices to “Compliant” without redeploying the profile (see Configuration considerations).
Firmware updatesYou can apply firmware updates to IBM TS4300 Tape Library devices (see Updating firmware on managed devices).

You can assign firmware-compliance policies to all or only selected devices that are non-compliant in addition to devices with no policy assignment (see Creating and assigning firmware-compliance policies).

Operating system deploymentVLAN tagging is not supported for Linux operating-system deployments; however, you can force deploying under VLAN mode by setting the VLAN ID to 1 for all Linux deployments (see Configuring network settings for managed servers).

You can import multiple customized ESXi images with the same major/minor version and build number (see Importing operating-system images).
