Fixes

Refer to the change history file (*.chg) that is provided in the update package for information about fixes.

Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.
FunctionDescription
Planning and installationYou can install XClarity Administrator on the following hosts (see Hardware and software prerequisites).
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux v9.x with KVM v2.12.0 installed
  • Rocky Linux 8.x and 9.x
  • Ubuntu Server 22.04.x LTS with KVM v4.2.3 installed
  • VMware ESXi 8.0

Removed ssh-rsa and added ssh-ed25519, ecdsa-sha2-nistp256, ecdsa-sha2-nistp384 and ecdsa-sha2-nistp521 to the list of supported host key algorithms (see Cryptographic management).

The host name of the server that is used to download warranty information in China only changed to csapi.lenovo.com.cn (see Firewalls and proxy servers).

AdministeringYou can push the XClarity Administrator management server fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) and DNS information to managed servers with IMM2, XCC, and XCC2 so that the managed servers can find the management server using this information (see Configuring network access).
SecurityYou can use the RSA-3072/SHA-384 cryptographic algorithm (see Cryptographic management).

You can add privileges for viewing and modifying the certificate policy to user roles (see Certificate management privileges).

MonitoringYou can view additional inventory data for persistent memory (PMEM) components (see Viewing the details of a managed server).

You can view additional inventory data for storage devices (see Viewing the details of a managed server).

Device managementYou can view and configure the security mode for specific servers separate from XClarity Administrator (Configuring the security settings for a managed server and Configuring cryptography settings on the management server).

You can set the Standard and Enterprise Strict Security modes on servers with XCC2 (Configuring the security settings for a managed server).

You can enable System Guard on servers with XCC2 to takes a snapshot of the current hardware inventory as trusted reference, and then monitor for deviations from the snapshot (see Enabling System Guard).

You can find the cryptographic settings, System Guard settings, and system-configuration lock status for a specific server from the server details pages (see Viewing the details of a managed server).

Firmware updatesYou can update firmware on IBM TS4300 tape libraries (see Updating firmware on managed devices).

When updating firmware using immediate activation, you can choose to run a memory test during the update (see Applying selected firmware updates using compliance policies and Applying selected firmware updates without using compliance policies).

Operating system deploymentYou can deploy the following operating systems to managed servers (see Supported operating systems).
  • Microsoft Windows Client 10 21H2, 10 22H2, and 11 22H2
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux 9.x
  • Rocky Linux 8.x and 9.x
  • Ubuntu Server 22.04.x
  • VMware vSphere® Hypervisor (ESXi) 8.0.x
Service and supportFor servers with XCC2, XClarity Administrator saves service data in two files: a service file (service information and inventory) in an easily readable format, which gets sent to the preferred service provider when a serviceable event is triggered, and a debug file (service information, inventory, and debug logs) which can be manually sent to Lenovo if detailed logs are needed to resolve a problem.

For downloading warranty information, use supportapi.lenovo.com as the worldwide DNS name as ibase.lenovo.com is no longer used (see Firewalls and proxy servers).
