Use this information to troubleshoot issues when you attempt
to perform a power operation on a managed server within a remote-control
session and it cannot be performed.
When you attempt to perform a power operation on a managed
server from a remote-control session, you might receive a message
stating that the power operation failed or that the power operation
is not applicable to the current state of the managed server.
Complete the following steps to resolve the issue:
- Ensure that the server is being managed by Lenovo XClarity Administrator. For more information, see Viewing the status of a managed server.
- From the Servers page, verify that the status of the server is
valid.
- Ensure that the power operation is valid for the current state
of the server. For example, if the server is currently powered off,
issuing a power off will not work.
- Check the jobs log to see if the power operation has completed.
It might take some time for the operation to complete, depending on
the current load of XClarity Administrator.
For more information about viewing the job status,
see Monitoring jobs.
