What's new in version 1.6.0

Lenovo XClarity Orchestrator management software version 1.6.0 supports new hardware, software enhancements, and fixes.

Software enhancements

This version supports the following enhancements to the management software.

Planning and installationDNS names or IP addresses must be open on the firewall to download updates (see Firewalls and proxy servers).
AdministeringPassword can be up to 256 characters (see Changing details for your user account).
Monitoring resourcesYou can forward report data though email on a reoccurring basis (see Forwarding reports using email).

You can define common destination configurations that can be used by one or more report forwarders (see Creating forwarder destination configurations).

You can find the source of each active alert from the Alerts table. The Source column is hidden from view by default but can be shown by clicking All Actions > Toggle Columns (see Monitoring active alerts).

You can find the source of each event from the Events table. The Source column is hidden from view by default but can be shown by clicking All Actions > Toggle Columns (see Monitoring events).

Updating firmwareThe firmware-compliance summary is based on policies that are assigned by XClarity Orchestrator and includes the number of devices for which compliance is being checked (see Viewing a summary of your environment).
Predicting and analyzing problemsYou can view graphs that illustrate analytical data about the past and predicted processor, storage, and memory usage in virtual resources (see Analyzing and predicting utilization trends).
Service and supportYou can set the severity when manually opening a service ticket (see Manually opening a service ticket in the Lenovo Support Center).
Terraform integrationTerraform is an open-source infrastructure as code software tool for changing, configuring, and automating infrastructure (resources) using a set of predefined declarative definitions. The XClarity Orchestrator provider is a plugin for Terraform that you can use to automatically monitor and manage resources that are managed by XClarity Orchestrator (see Summary of changes in the XClarity Orchestrator provider for Terraform).
PowerShell toolkitThe XClarity Orchestrator PowerShell toolkit (LXCOPSTool) provides a library of cmdlets to automate provisioning and resource management from a Microsoft PowerShell session. For information about new and updated PowerShell cmdlets, see Summary of changes in the PowerShell toolkit.
REST APIXClarity Orchestrator provides a set of easy-to-use REST APIs that can be used to access XClarity Orchestrator data and services from applications running outside of the XClarity Orchestrator framework. For information about new and updated REST APIs, see Summary of changes in the REST API.
